This is Me
Hi, I’m Yelitza.
I’m a licensed professional counselor and the heart behind A Journey to Growth Counseling. I created this space to offer compassionate, down-to-earth support for teens and adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, and the everyday (or not-so-everyday) ups and downs of being human.
My Approach
My style is collaborative, supportive, and warm. I believe therapy should feel like a safe place to show up as you are, with all kinds of feelings, doubts, and everything in between. Together, we’ll work to better understand what’s going on beneath the surface, learn ways to handle challenges more confidently, and create more space for self-trust and growth.
Cultural understanding matters
As a first-generation American with Dominican roots, I understand the experience of navigating multiple cultures and perspectives. My approach is culturally sensitive, honoring each person’s unique background and story.
What therapy looks like with me
I use practical tools that help you gain insight, break free from habits or cycles that keep you feeling stuck, and make meaningful changes in your daily life. I also look at how your environment, relationships, and life experiences shape what you’re going through, and I tailor every session to your needs, values, and goals.
A little about me outside the therapy chair
I love hiking, crocheting plushies, crafting with my Cricut, and caring for my plants. These creative outlets help me stay grounded and present.
Let’s connect
If you’re curious about working together, reach out. I’d love to hear your story and see how I can support you.
MY VALUES
Authenticity
True healing happens when you feel safe to be yourself. I strive to create a space where you can show up just as you are, without fear of judgment or expectation.
Compassion
Navigating life’s challenges isn’t easy, and you don’t have to do it alone. My approach is rooted in warmth, empathy, and genuine care for your well-being.
Cultural Humility
Your story, identity, and experiences matter. I am committed to creating an inclusive space where you feel seen, heard, and respected.
